Join us at our monthly Dads Group meeting where dads and male caregivers can share their prespectives on life, parenting, marriage, health and more.  Build friendships and learn from other dads whose experiences can help you in your walk as a parent, advocate and spouse. Introduction to "Where There's A Will, There's A Way" grant program.  This training is for families with special needs loved ones'.  Come and learn about how different planning for your future and the future of your loved ones can be when you have a special needs loved one to consider.  We will discuss the basics of creating your wills, powers of attorney, halth care proxies and letter of intent.  We will discuss how to facilitate discussions with your spounse on chosing uardians and trustees.  Help families clarfify concerns over when to set up and special needs trust and when to wait.  We will discuss navigating the SSI maze, planning for your loved one to remain benefit eligible into aduothood and more.  This courese qualifies as a pre requesite training for entry into the grant program for eligible families who apply.  RSVP a must, space is limited.  Call (954) 476 5312 or caqll 954 806 7589.  Parents only, no providers.

Creating Your Letter of Intent.  This workshop will bring families through our comprehensive 40 page Letter of Intent document and help facilitate thoughtful conversations between parents and other caregivers about preserving the long term quality of life of their special needs children and adults.  Topics will include, transfer of critical data like blood type, medications, diagnosis, allergies and uses of durable medical devices and equiptment.  Writing excercises that include lettewr to your typical children, to your appointed guardians and to your spouse.  Conversations on your post death game plan for continued care for your loved ones and more.
